I am working on my latest sculpture "Devil's mountain"

WELCOME TO MY
ART
SPACE

Once somebody asked me why am I doing this. And my daughter answered for me: for fun. Why people were doing art since neanderthals? There is something in us humans that makes us doing arts. Painting, sculpture and whatever other type of art comes our way. Including music.

I just love to see life, some kind of meaning in seemingly senseless stuff.

But as my interest in philosophy of life picked, so is my believe that meaning, life is everywhere. You just need to see it, to find it.

I started to experiment with various materials – steel, epoxy, gypsum. Some ideas I got from the YouTube. I like to watch Forged in Fire and decided to try making knives. You be the judge of my creations. While we were walking on the Marco Island beach Anna, my wife, noticed the root of the recently fallen tree. We decided that it looks like a women running out of dark forest.

So I went to the store and bought a small saw. We grabbed a good size bag and went to this root. It took us a good hour to get the piece we wanted. We loaded it into the bag and were schlepping it fore about a mile to our apartment. (I am glad that Anna is fully supporting this craziness). We drove the piece back to our home, where I did some small corrections to this root and called it “Out of Dark Forest”.

The other big peace that I later named “Devils Mountain” we brought from Kentucky during family reunion. The resort restaurant threw it out for some reason so we loaded it in our car and brought it home. That is when I found out why the restaurant got rid of it – it was all rotten inside. So it took me a while to clean the peace while creating a LOT of wood dust.
