But this power hides a dangerous truth: the megacity is not strong in the way a mountain is strong. It is strong in the way a machine is strong — only while all its parts continue to function.

The human brain did not evolve to reveal reality as it truly is. It evolved to create a useful model of reality — a simplified interface that helped the organism move, eat, reproduce, cooperate, escape danger, and remain alive long enough to pass its genes forward.

Animals live inside the system. Humans stepped outside it — and lost meaning. Now intelligence stands at the edge of itself.

A being vastly smarter than us may perceive reality intuitively, as one living whole. Communication would be fragmentary for us — metaphors, experiments, or telepathic impressions.
